# Zilliqa

> Zilliqa is building the compliance infrastructure for institutional onchain finance. Its Mediation Layer runs a credential check before a transaction settles, on any chain or settlement rail, so compliance is enforced before settlement rather than reconciled after the fact.

Key ideas: compliance before settlement; a settlement-agnostic Mediation Layer; verifiable identity (vLEI, a GLEIF standard) issued via LTIN (Liechtenstein Trust Integrity Network); a public chain with an additive, not restrictive, compliance layer; a four-phase roadmap (Q2 2026 to Q2 2027) where every milestone is tied to shipped evidence.
